difference between sd sh-5 and dimarzio evolution?

both models have similares features: ceramic magnet and dc resistence around 14k...
(I know there are other specs that maybe I'm not considering that you can explain me)
In my country is easier to import seymour duncan products,
that's why I'm searching for a seymour duncan version of a dimarzio evolution
What are the differences? Is there a better seymour duncan model for this task?

They are VERY different pickups and don't sound anything alike!

As some top-level SD employees have said in the past, Duncan doesn't have a true "Evolution" equivalent and I tend to agree.

Regardless, you might take a look at the Alternative 8, the Full Shred, the Black Winter or the new Mark Holcomb Alpha/Omega set.

The evolution is an unforgiving pickup, it sounds good but will reveal the flaws in your technique. I would agree that it doesn't have a straight across comparable in the SD lineup.

yes both pickups have the same kind of magnet and almost the same dc resistance (14.1 sh-5 and 13.9 evolution) but they are different. The EQ is different. The evolution has a full midrange, a lot of punch, rich harmonics, and a great definition of all the notes. As you know it has been designed for Steve Vai to support his immense guitar technique. While the custom is a little bit mid scooped and has sharp highs. As stated on Seymour Duncan website the custom is a Paf on steroids and that is the best sentence to explain how it sounds. to answer your question there is no duncan like the evolution, so your choice will depend on what tone you want for your guitar

Closest thing I can think of is the OG El Diablo, which MJ calls the Hot Hot Demon.
