Digital Reverb Pedals

Anyone have either a Boss RV-5 Digital Reverb or a Digitech X-Series Digiverb? I haven't checked either of them out yet (the Sam Ash I go to never has their pedal boards hooked up) and was wondering which is the better of the two. I just want some nice organic hall/spring reverb in a pedal without spending more than $200. The Boss is $50 more, but I've read excellent reviews of both pedals on Harmony-Central. Any input is appreciated. Thanks.

I highly recommend you at least check out the ElectroHarmonix Holy Grail and Holier Grail. I got my Holier grail, with a power adapter, off ebay for about $110 . Great pedal. My only complaint on that one is the adapter isn't a standard 9v, but 18v.

The Holy Grail is the smaller version, very nice, and I think it uses the standard Boss-type 9v connector.

Best I ever heard.

I like my Boss Reverb Pedal. For the money I think it's the mosr versatile and has the best tone. Heven't tried everything out there but when I was searching for one I felt it was the best. I keep the level set low...just for ambiance. It's stereo too so I can use it to drive two of my tweed Deluxes in stereo...NICE!

Yeah, the Holy Grail was another one I was considering. The sound clips on Electro-Harmonix's website are really nice. What I like about the other two pedals is the larger amount of control they seem to have, though (level and decay time).

Re: Digital Reverb Pedals

The Digitech really rules... I think some of their pedals (like the Delay) are very underrated.

Re: Digital Reverb Pedals

EH Holy grail. if u r a reverb snob that loves tube driven 3 spring reverb tanks, than maybe a holeir grail. but if ur that hard core, either u have accutronics in all ur amps, or a fender '63 reverb tank, or similar.......holy grail is plenty, and a nice pedal. wish i had one....

Re: Digital Reverb Pedals

I've heard the Holy Grail's are kind of noisy. Have you guys experienced this at all? I might be picking up a reverb pedal in the next few weeks and it seems my only real options are the HG or the RV-3.

I know the Holy Grail is supposed to have really good Spring reverb, but I'm also looking for really good Hall. How is it for that?
