DIGITECH RV-7 & SuperNatural Diffs.....

Greetings all~ For those of you familiar with these 2 Digitech/Hardwire Ambient verbs, what are the key differences between them? I like that they both share the Lexicon chip, but what else is the beneath the surface, besides price?? IIRC, the controls are very similar, if not identical...?? Either better than the other?

Both look almost the same and even share some overlap, like both having plate and spring modes (and a slightly modulated plate vibe). You can get similar basic reverb sounds out of them. But once you move past those, they split pretty hard. RV-7 sticks to more “normal” reverbs like room, hall, gated, and reverse, so it feels tighter and more like a studio tool, while Supernatural goes way more ambient with stuff like shimmer and supernova that already have modulation and pitch baked in, so it gets big and dreamy really fast. So they can overlap on the simple stuff, but RV-7 stays clean and traditional, while Supernatural is basically built to get more experimental and atmospheric. What are you looking for?

The RV-7 is an epic Reverb. Period. Can't speak to the Supernatural.

Hate myself for not getting an RV-7 back in the day...
