digitech whammy IV or Digitech whammy DT?

I just had a midi controller guitar made and I am going to buy one of the Digitech whammys but I don't know what is a better idea and what will give my imagination more freedom to create. Whammy IV or the whammy DT? Which one will give me more options? Can I play covers of rage and muse with the DT? Does a DT do everything the whammy IV can and then some? Please help!

ive never used any digitech whammy before, and i just want to be sure.

The answer is the new Whammy V, which have true bypass(finally) and so far seems to get rave reviews. DT if you need the downtuning stuff.

I'm happy with my whammy 4. It does enough drop tuning for me. The only thing I want is true bypass but for the price I paid I can't complain.

Seeing as how you're a Matt Bellamy fan he uses an older Whammy so I would assume it's more akin to the IV or V. I would say that unless you go really in depth with the tuning stuff that I'd go with the cheaper model. On my IV they just sound like chorus effects and I much prefer the octave stuff on the pedal. Play them and see which you'll think you get more use out of. If you don't mind me asking what effects are you currently running?

the pedals i have/use at the moment are :

Big Muff, phase 90, ocd distortion pedal, boss delay,

soon to come:
KP3 and Whammy
