There have only been a few A2 Dimarzios. I have a Virtual Vintage 2.1 single coil and I believe that has A2 poles? Larry Dimarzio has said he doesn't care for A2 magnets and he believes he can achieve similar tonal results by using his "air" and "virtual vintage" techniques with A5 magnets. Most of his humbuckers have brass baseplates which roll of the highs and beef up the midrange and bass response so an A2 with a brass baseplate would be pretty mushy. The brass baseplate is also a good reason to use hex head screws to sharpen the treble, dip out the mids and sharpen the bass response.
