Never tried one but the name is such a forced pun that that alone is enough to make me avoid it.

I have 2 in 2 different guitars.
1 of them is in my old '85 Les Paul DCXPL, that I had never been satisfied with. I had tried at least 8 pickups in that guitar, after I put the mo joe in it, I stopped looking, it's perfect for that guitar, which had always been "hard" (a bit harsh) sounding to me.
The other is in a PRS Santana, it sounds ok in that guitar, but nothing spectacular. It isn't a high output pickup, more on the order of a PAF on steroids. It's a fairly balanced tone, with maybe a little bump in the mids. Sounds ok by itself, and sounds good with other pickups in the neck. Leads sound good with it also.

I have installed the Mo'joe in three guitars. My 75 Custom, where it sounded like an ice pick, a basswood SG copy, where it sounded very hot and a little too sizzly on the top end, and in my 73 Les Paul Deluxe, where it sounds incredible. I was just jamming last night with that guitar and when I say Zeppelin sounded just like Page, I ain't lying. It actually covered blues, rock, and classic metal like a champ. Throught a vintage Marshall setting on my Vox, it hit the nail right on the head, and with a recto setting, it was downright evil.
GREAT pickup in the right guitar, TERRIBLE pickup in the wrong guitar. Take note though, that in my 75 Custom, about eight different bridge pickups sounded pretty bad including Antiquities so it is admittedly not a good sounding guitar. The Mo'Joe never really had a chance in that guitar.

Dimarzios seem very consistent in different guitars to me. If someone says different then I assume they mismatched the pickup to the guitar. The Mojo is a little on the bright end but not harsh in any way. Its great to open up a dark sounding neck. In a Prs I think it would be great since I think Prs are always dark and muddy in the neck.
I bought a Mo jo when it first came out. Before that I tried out the new Js 1000. Its a great pickup. Harmonics are easy in the neck and thats cool too. It has a lot of character. Easily beats any stock pickup.
