DiMarzio PAF Classic VS Air Classic VS Virtual PAF

I'm going to be putting this in a hollowbody and it would be a covered version either way.
It would be wired similarly to a peavey T-60, with the tone knobs tapping the coils above 7.

I'm looking for a detailed somewhat Hi-Fi clean sound that'll hold up with moderate(not insane, hollowbodies disobey you if you use Jackass amounts of gain ;) ) amounts of overdrive.

Thanks in advance.

I heard somewhere that the VPAF's from Dimarzio like to be in 25.5" scale guitars and don't jive well with Gibson scale length instrumenta, trhough I've never heard them myself. From the pickups I've tried, the most detailed and hi-fi set would be between the Jazz and the Alnico II Pro from Duncan.

The Jazz does sound nice.

I put one in my Carvin's neck spot last night and it sounds almos acoustic on cleans. :)

That's what I'm looking for.
Which one did you use?

I use a jazz in one guitar and a aph in another. I like them both but, I think the APH has more character and alot more soul.

I have a set of virtual PAF's. I had them in a PRS CE22 and swapped them out for a JB and Jazz. There was nothing wrong with them other than me having a wild hair to change them out for the Duncans. They have more of a vintage sound and they sound real good split. I am going to hold on to them and will probably put them in one of my strats.
