Dimarzio (sorry) which is the 'Slug' coil

OK, wiring up the Fred, split 2 different ways, one coil sounds a heck of a lot better than the other (different windings in the 'dual resonance' design - 5.03K vs 4.01K)

So, I have a PU with all allen screws, which side is the 'screw' side? Where the wire comes out the top? (Hold the PU, the model number at the bottom, top right is where the wire comes out). That's the side that is selected if you ground the black & white. I'm assuming the other side is the slug side...dunno!

TIA

(assuming this is in the bridge) Usually the coil pointing to the neck is the slug coil.

"Usually the coil pointing to the neck is the slug coil."

Not at all, most std guits have the screws towards the bridge for the bridge PU, towards the neck for the neck PU....of course you cannot tell with a PAF pro or FRED so I am doing up a diagram:

Dimarzio, from bottom, reading the Dimarzio imprint right side up:
Screw coil at top, where the cable comes out.

Screw coil is green & white wires
Slug coil is black & red.

I'll post my diagrams, with optimal split configs (pole bridge & slug neck so they humcancel, bridge selected coil is furthest from bridge so it does not sound so thin)
