Dimarzio Super Distortion vs Duncan Detonator (in a metal application)

im sure most of you will go back and forth about it and mostly say the DSD cause of its reputation for rock
i like the rounded sound of detonator a little more for the style i play
also i may of played the detonator clip slightly more sloppy and that leads to a blander mushier sound, if the layers were dead on then it would be better, but i did my best today.

IMO DSD sounds more focused and tight. I luv me some focus and tightness. Let there be ro... I mean Super Distortion. :D

I couldn't tell the difference unless you held a gun to my head, in which case I would soil myself.

Neither could I. They both kick ass though. (Still waiting on a CD:bowdown:)

im really on the fence here
my gut tells me the DSD is better even though i have to fix low ends etc

imo, very similar pickups, but i thought the super distortion was a bit more loose in the low end, whereas the detonator had more high-mid crunchiness going on which made it sound a little bit tighter.

im all about the detonator now.
its going to be my thing for awhile now. i want to explore maybe A8s and A2 magnets in it etc...but i love the huge sound out of the double ceramic so it will be hard to even try anything else for now.
