Dimebucker + Alder body?

Re: Dimebucker + Alder body?

lot of lows even more highs. the dimebucker is a very bright pup. as long as you dont have a really bright amp it should be fine though

Re: Dimebucker + Alder body?

In the Dime guitars, it's rounder, fatter, and tubbier due to the different woods and probably the greater mass as well. I had one in my Silhouette for a spell and while it was only a hair less fat and less round... it seemed a little tighter in the lows and the highs had a little more snarl. Still sounded awesome, and I wasn't wanting for more chunk at all. Great pickup.

Re: Dimebucker + Alder body?

I read today that the L500XL was a ceramic

Well I'm talking about the Bill & Becky Lawrence L500XL,
not the Bill Lawrence USA (crap) one.

And dont ask the difference between the two.:banghead:
Use the search button, lol :thanks:

Re: Dimebucker + Alder body?

In my Alder Strat, the Dime sounded like a high powered singlecoil. And was too mid scooped for my liking.

Re: Dimebucker + Alder body?

Would 300k pots and dialing down the treble on your amp or EQ's be a simple fix for excessive brightness?
