Dimebucker in a Jackson

So my soloist and my 2 other dinkys have a JB in the bridge. I try to keep the sound consistant so that when playing live and switching guitars, I don't have to change everything on the amp. I was wondering how a dimebucker would sound in this new dxmg. Has anyone ever tried this before? I love the sound of the dimebucker in the guitar that it is in now, but the dinky has an alder body and the guitar it is in now is made from cherry with a maple cap. Quite a bit of differance as far as wood-tone goes but who knows?

I´m not sure I understand the question......Are you asking if the dimebucker in an alder Dinky will sound the same as a JB in 2 other dinkys and a soloist?

It´s pretty fair to wager no, the Dime will be more scooped and more aggressive....

I guess I wasn't so clear...............I just wondered if the Dimebucker will have as much saturation , and not be too muddy, or too high-end as compared to the JB.
I know they will sound different, I was more concerned about how much the wood of the dinky will affect the sound as compared to the cherry/maple of the other guitar

Well, if you have both pickups and guitar there, I´d just switch pickups quick and find out what sounds better to you...I haven´t worked with Cherrywood in almost 10 years, can´t remember what it was like, tonally....

But putting in the JB would be the "safe" route...The Dime is quite different...the Bass "sags" similarly, but is still more focused, and there´s a sizzle in the Dime that the JB doesn´t have.... Could work out real well for downtuning in the same rig, though....

i just put a dime in one of my strats and man this thing has a mean edge to it, i'm not sure i like it 100% yet. it has a nice low end but it has this bite to the top end that can be a bit much at times and takes some EQ work to tame down a bit. however the dime shines in drop D IMO it stays articulate and real thick even in my alder/maple strat i have it in.
