Dimebucker on a Tele

Re: Dimebucker on a Tele

how do u like the fhole?

I really like it so much. It brings a whole different frequency that I have never found on solid body. It also free of unwanted harmonics/high pitched noise. Anyway, the body has a lot of tone chamber. I really chipped a lot of wood on it :)

Wow! I really dislike dimebucker, but I really dig how it sounds in that tele. Seems like a nice match.

Re: Dimebucker on a Tele

Yeah, at first I thought it would be an awful match,, but it turns out to be smooth, gritty, with a lot of bite. Really love it :)
Thank you :)

Re: Dimebucker on a Tele

I was genuinely surprised.

The Dimebucker would probably be one of the last pickups I'd ever put in a telecaster.

Re: Dimebucker on a Tele

Greetings!

I just found out that Dimebucker is a very good pickup to be put on a telecaster. It has its own twang, and doesn't sound harsh at all. I put STR 2 on the neck position to match the power of dimebucker.

Here are some videos i posted on youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rBeQ3HS1xvQ

Wow... this sounded so obvious to me I figured the only reason it didn't show up more often was for lack of humbucker routes on most tele models. BUT, guess not. Seems everyone else is seeing it as a revelation.

Genuinely surprised other people found this surprising.

Seems so very logical, doesn't it? Did you also go with "what humbucker twangs the most?" logic or was it through experimentation with everything you had in your parts box that you arrived at this result?

Re: Dimebucker on a Tele

Thank you so much for your kind words guys :)

I am a big fan of Dimebag and I can hear 'the twang' in his playing. This may sounds crazy, but we all know that Dime has his southern feel in his playing. So I thought it might be a great idea to put his pickup on a twang machine (tele). I was surprised that I got the warmth and bite I really want from a guitar. It might has something to do with the mahogany top, and the tone chambers on the guitar. It's a bit of 'faith' and it is also a bit of experimentation. Luckily, I finally found what I have been looking for :)

PS:
I got an endorsement from Randall amp, and I think the amp's sound also has its part on the equation. It's only 5 watt but it is very powerful and warm. Sorry a lil bit out of topic, but I think it is worth mentioning.
