Direct mounting a Cool Rail with threaded inserts

Hello,
I have a Swamp Ash body and I want to direct mount a Cool Rail. Does any know that the thread size is on the pickup?. Any tips on direct mounting would be helpful.

The screw size is 6-32 x 5/8", but direct mount screws are usually pretty thin. You could probably put them through the holes with little thread damage, in case you ever wanted to mount them in something else.

I've used threaded inserts before, instead of small wood screws. I use foam underneath.

Use a #4 screw with a washer
preserve the threaded parts in case you change your mind

i use small wood screws for direct mounting pups, might be a 1" #2? ill have to check downstairs. i figured out whats small enough to fit through the hole without messing up the threads and bought a bunch of em from fastenal.
