Distortion set: Is neck and bridge the same P.U.?

Question: In the SH-6 distortion set are both pick ups completely identical to one another with either pick up being made specifically for the bridge or neck position? (same goes for the HB-103 set)

Thing is, I ultimately want a Jazz in the neck instead but would have no problem scooping up a second hand distortion set for now if I knew I could later use each each pick up in the bridge position of two different guitars with equal results.

Unless I've gone crazy, calibrated sets like the distortion you were talking about have a dc resistance of 16.6 in the bridge and 12.7 in the neck.

You could still use the neck pickup in the bridge of another guitar, it just won't have quite the output of the hotter bridge model.

*Please pipe up if I'm mistaken or if I missed something important he needs to know*

Generally neck and bridge sets are calibrated in that the bridge has a bit more mid and bass while the neck has a bit more treble. Also the output of each is matched so that you don't get too wide a volume difference between positions. Sometimes only the output is different. I prefer where both are eq'd and their outputs compensated.
