Distortion Shoot-Out (First Clip...)

Received a Fulltone Distortion Pro! Some say worst Fulltone ever? Competing for poorest pedal I have a Boss DS1. Next to that, my Danelectro FAB (which probably ought to be the worst of all at $15 , but...) Thought people could be curious.

Order FAB, Pro, DS1 (lead then rhythm)
Fender Champ, WGS G12Q speaker stuck in an old open-back combo
Jackson SLX w/ DD HB102s (stock.)

(Sorry for my sloppy playing/not bothering to use a metronome, just wanted to hear a quick comparison. Also I have little recording experience and less than adequate equipment, did this in my condo and had to keep volumes way down. This was a cheap-ish vocal mic/Presonus interface through Garageband.)

You ever consider a career in sales? :)

Re: Distortion Shoot-Out (First Clip...)

My brother's the salesman in the family; he and I don't get along, I prefer facts ;) When I listen to demos online I'm grateful to know how they were recorded. As my first attempt I'd hate to give such a convincing sales pitch to fool anyone to think this was 'good' and insult people who are sound engineers as a career; no doubt, I set up to record this in ten minutes total, so it's unfair to lump it with the very good recording work others do, on this forum.

That said I think I captured what I hear in the pedals pretty well with respect to each other. I still like the Fab best, but I'm tweaking and learning the eight (interactive) knobs on the Pro, so we'll see; don't think the DS1 rhythm sounds that bad.
