DIY P-Rails?

What about putting a P90 beside a RWRP single coil with similar resistance and wiring them up together to a 3 way switch? Do you think the two would be humbucking and sound decent? Would their resistance be doubled? Why you ask? I don't have the $175 for a pair of SD P-rails for a build I'm doing.

welcome to the forum!

you could do it, might be some weird magnetic field with the six pole magnets and two bar magnets. if you use a typical three way, youd get single/both in parallel/p90. if you wanted the two pups in series youd need a different switch or an additional switch

Re: DIY P-Rails?

Wouldn't you get some sort of weird route to be able to do that? The good thing about the P-Rails is that it rejects hum really well.

Re: DIY P-Rails?

shop around...just bought a P-Rail neck for $50 shipped... a lot easier than going thru what you are suggesting...and the outcome is known...
