D'Lite Build (3 min video)

About 3 years ago I built this amp ... it's documented here too. But I thought this was a cool way of compressing the process. I uploaded on youtube ... the song is played through this amp.

Still love the amp ... loaded with an EVM12L ... I also have a 2x12 Scumback/G1265 combo ... but I still mainly take the EVM out with it.

Hope you like it. Sharing around some of the boards.

Where did you pick up that kit, and about how much did it run you?

The kit is a Brown Note www.brownnote.net but do some research on kit delivery before you consider anything. It took me about 2 months to get mine but a lot guys over the past couple of years have reported real long lead times on kits. It's a great product but still I was about to cancel my order at 2 months even then. Glad I worked through the pain. I don't remember exactly what I paid but I bought the premium head kit.

I remember that build. Glad to hear it turned out to be a main amp.

Yes ... it was only supposed to be a kit build for an extra low watt amp. I had been playing only one amp for 30 years ... my Mesa/Boogie Mk1. I liked this amp so much, that I gave that amp to my son on his 20 birthday. Coincidentally, the amp has the same birthday (signed by Randall Smith on 3-24-78). Since it has the same birthday as my son ... just 10 years earlier ... I gave him that amp on the shared birthday. He was thrilled and still plays it.

Here's the two of us playing together recently ... with these two amps.

Pretty cool ...huh?

Awesome - especially the clip of you two playing together!

That super compressed and smooth gainy tone is great, and it matches your playing style with awesome result!

I was a little interested in Brown Note amps for a while, but they have an unreliable reputation, and don't seem to run the company in a seriously professional way.

that said, you get some great tone with yours

yeah ... as I said before ... I gave a "wait warning" above. Case of a great product ... just have troubled keeping up and doing what they say. Still glad I got mine. Hope they someday get the service/promise thing down. I think the amps are super.
