I own an Ibanez RGA42T electric, wondering if i need to install a new EQ module to properly install set of AHB-1 Blackout pups? Or can I wire the pups using factory fitted Ibanez module?? Setup is factory, guitar has an Ibanez module fitted, one volume, no tone 3 way sw.

Help!!!

Cheerz!

Welcome to the forum.

You appear to be using the expression "EQ module" to refer to a control circuit. So, the short answer to your question is yes. All the parts that you need to install SD Blackouts are supplied in the box.

EDIT: One small consideration. The PU cut-outs in your pickguard may need their corners reshaping to accommodate the squarer corners of the Blackouts black plastic covers.

Can you perhaps point to the place on the guitar that you're calling the "EQ module"? That is not a term that anybody else in history has ever used.

Er, one possible exception, Shergold/Hayman guitars.

The Shergold Modulator guitars and basses came with their controls in a removable plug-in metal case. Assorted interchangable control combinations were offered. e.g. M Vol, M Tone, selector switch. 2xVol, 2xTone, selector. Modules with Phase Reversal on so on. Good in theory but unsightly in practice. Never caught on.

Thanks for the input, and for correcting my terminology! I can fix the problem of the corners at the pups as I'm pretty handy with hand tools/routing machines being a bench carpenter.

Many thanks to all.
