Do I need a new set up

My new to me LP Studio had Super Slinkies (9-42), and I just restrung it with D’Addario 11-52. The previous owner was playing it with the truss rod completely loose, and the action higher than when I set up a Strat to SRV spec.

I got the guitar two days ago, and tightened the truss with the 9s still on it. When i swapped the strings last night, I had to widen the nut slots and tweak the action a bit, but the relief did not change. I’m letting it settle until tonight before checking again, but it has a pretty beefy neck, and I’m guessing it won’t have moved.

I can about guarantee you'll want to adjust the action, intonation and possibly need to widen the nut slots. Most electrics from factory are adjusted for and strung up with 9-42 or 10-46. That's a pretty good jump on total tension as well.

I definitely need a new setup. Bigger room, maybe some soundproofing, and maybe a new computer for recording instead of just a bit of extra space in the guest bedroom.
