on the back of the headstock? Do I really need to be reminded that it was [MADE IN CHINA ][INSPECTED #20 GABOR CHINA] [100% INSPECTED AND SET UP IN THE USA by E 14 ] and my personal favorite [ image] (do not throw your epiphone in the trash can) do I need to hang on to my new improved serial# sticker? cant get rid of the 2ND stamp, but geez this thing looks like luggage that has circled the globe a few times

Re: Do u guys remove these stickers?

Is that a massive ding above the serial number?!

Personally I take all the stickers off, they just make the guitar seem tacky to me.

Re: Do u guys remove these stickers?

That "ding" above the serial number is the "2nd" stamp, indicating that the guitar is a factory second, or a "B-stock" unit. My Epi LP Custom has one, proud and proper.

As for the stickers, peel off as much as you can with your fingers. Then use an old credit card or some other very soft piece of plastic to scrape off whatever will come loose. Try applying Goo Gone (the citrusy stuff) during this step; it might help. Then use Goo Gone and a clean cotton cloth to rub off what's left.

Re: Do u guys remove these stickers?

not a ding,a 2nd stamp, the factory is kind enough to do that when the refurbish one...that freakin stamp looks 100 times worse than the minute finish flaw, but then again it knocked $100 off the price

Re: Do u guys remove these stickers?

Take the stickers off.

I got a new Charvel last year and it had a silly sticker on the back of the headstock proclaiming that the strat-style headstock shape was licensed from FMIC. Yeah, like I needed to know that, especially given that FMIC owns Charvel. So that sticker came off quickly and the Goo Gone that Jessie recommended was great at getting all of the glue residue off.

Re: Do u guys remove these stickers?

I take them all off immediately if not sooner. To me, they are totally unnecessary and make the guitar look cheap and cheezy. YMMV

Re: Do u guys remove these stickers?

Don't think I have ever bought a guitar made in China. I know I have a Tele that was MIJ but this is printed under the finish on the neck at the heel. The label; if it bothered me would be gone!

Re: Do u guys remove these stickers?

My 90' Les Paul Classic still has a sticker on the back of the headstock.......It's the price tag the music store put on it. I leave it on there so I can use the phrase 'still got the ole' tagger on it'.......Probably hasn't helped the finish under it so theres no point in taking it off now!

Re: Do u guys remove these stickers?

I'd lose the stickers, but not the Serial number!

how would I benefit by keeping it? I mean for my personal records does it matter if its the old serial # that is stamped in it, or the new serial# that is issued when it was stamped 2nd? I actually find this slightly bizzare
