Do you ever just plug in & FREAK OUT?

Re: Do you ever just plug in & FREAK OUT?

I didnt see that coming. I figured it was going to be random sounds. But its... random sounds played very cooly.

I never realized that 5 seconds of any recording could give you an instant migraine - until now.

But that was just awful.

hahha that was great! I love it...I do that most of the time ........

No way, man! I'm an improvisational soloist! I jump off that cliff, & either soar with the eagles, or fall flat on my face! I'm like the white Vernon Reid!

Uhhh....except for the severe disparity in talent. :D

I just keep listening to this ( and laughing ) ..........it's great.....it has that Prince sorta background to it ............I think you should do more!

Re: Do you ever just plug in & FREAK OUT?

I do that all the time - and always when I know I should be practicing properly :laugh2:

yeah ......it's just funner to "freak out" most of the time.....and Freaking Out is the Mother of invention too!

Barring the tone. I liked it :bigthumb:

Sounds very "Nuno" to me :D

Re: Do you ever just plug in & FREAK OUT?

Wow! Thanks for all the positive responses! I certainly didn't expect any!

I really didn't expect tone comments, I must say. I can't say I've ever taken the time to consider my lead tone. All it is is my rythym sound, (Schecter, bridge pup in this case) with a little tube screamer thrown in. I suppose I could flip to the bridge pickup & fatten it up, but I usally don't, because I lose the pinch harmonics. Maybe I'll get a few Coronas in me tonight & go at it w/the neck pup. :D

Actually, what I really need to do is strap on the Ibanez. You guys think I sound funny on a fixed bridge, you should hear it when I dip into my Floyd Rose bag of tricks! :laugh2:

Hey cGord ,
I listened to your stuff on myspace last night (actually I was laying down some leadwork over your grooves :) fun stuff ) anyway, your lead tone there sounds much better, you must have done something different for your "Freak Out" experience ......maybe it's just a different mix ?....

Re: Do you ever just plug in & FREAK OUT?

Hmmm...I don't think so. 05 is the only one with any sort of lead thing on it. The way it's different, though, is it's two tracks panned hard left/right instead of one straight up the middle. Also, that opening/middle/outro lick is (sort of) harmonized, I'm on a different string on each track. On the final little one-bar freakout, each channel is doing something completely different. But the guitar & the Line6 settings are the same.

God, my head hurts...
