As for the Wylde Les Paul, I would never go for it. The Camo model is ass-ugly and maple fretboards on a Paul look idiotic. Even the traditional white and black Bullseye model doesn't win any points in my book. I hate the way EMGs sound and putting EMGs in a Paul is just horrendous.

Yeah, I really don't like the bullseye design either, although the camo one is better than the black and white one.

I dont think the ZW custom is worth it man. I like the Maple neck, but thats all. If it was a regular black custom with black hardware and emgs, I would like it alot more.

I just wish Gibson would offer a satin finished maple neck, the same way they offer the 50's or 60's neck. The Zakk guitars look so ugly, I'm almost embarrassed for him. He may have well designed a LP with flying purple pigs painted all over it. LOL White/black bullseye, camo, orange tigerstripes???? Puuullllleeeeeeeeeeez! Ha Ha

zakk's rebel guitar (beat to shi!t confederater flag with beer caps all over it) looks awesome, i really want that. but i think the bullseyes are too personally identified to him, it wouldnt feel right to buy one. but i do like the maple neck and 6100 frets

I don't have a deep hatred for all Les Pauls, just ones that are marred by the presence of EMG pickups. In fact, I love most Les Pauls. They give you a warm, fat, thick tone that is enhanced by 59s, JBs, and other passive pickups. Actives just kill all that. The warmth is replaced by a sterile, joyless metallic screech that makes my ears long for the smooth dulcet tones of vintage Led Zeppelin. Hell, even Megadeth is smooth and dulcet compared to Zakk.
The ZW Paul is just taking a great idea and running in the opposite direction with it. EMGs are muscular and forceful but in a way I don't really like. They scream but never grumble. I would go with passives every time, but especially in a classic-sounding guitar like a Paul.
