What are your thoughts about AVIDs brand new and amazing (money grabbing) subscription system?
Do you think AVID is commiting suizide with Pro Tools 12?

AVID has been slowly committing suicide over the decades anyways... it's just a matter of time.
Apparently, their head got too puffed up knowing they were the industry standard; which explains their last move.
If I had to give a vote for best DAW, it sure as hell wouldn't be PT. I'd give the vote to Steinberg's Cubase.

Yup, don't care cause PT never catered to me anyway. Cakewalk is doing a subscription system too, but at a much better cost and with the option to purchase outright.
Once it's time to upgrade from Sonar x3 I may jump ship to Reaper as I am not a fan of subscription to begin with...$60 and does everything you need, not to mention 60 day fully functional trial.

I remember a huge thread "The Embarrassing Failure That Ableton 9 Is", big one on gearslutz.
I think all those tightly integrated software packages are screwed. All of them will develop for dumber and dumber users as they know the existing users can't move, so it's pure profit.
