Does a Boss EQ7 add noise?

Re: Does a Boss EQ7 add noise?

Does it help the noise if you only use it for cutting frequencies, not boosting? Also, I've heard good things about the Dano Fish & Chips EQ.

Doesn't make a difference. As soon as any of the sliders are moved from the zero position, the pedal is engaged. This includes the level slider. Boost, cut, doesn't matter; the pedal's engaged, so the signal's running through the pedal components. Instant hissssssssss.

Re: Does a Boss EQ7 add noise?

i've been using the boss pedal for some years now and i can responsibly claim that it makes virtually no noise if you don't crank up the volume level on it. it can really help to nail that tone you always wanted, but be careful with it, it is pretty sensitive. i always keep the volume on it a bit below center and sliders really don't need to go all the way up, and the noise on that setting is marginal if not inaudible at all. cheers
