None of my SD pups came with mounting rings.

Some companies on the net send little extras like pup rings and more screws with their pickups I think. I think OP got might have got it as an extra. I don't recall getting rings with my pups.

Yes. Since I buy most of mine used though, I keep the old rings & springs from the cheap Asian PU's that I pull off my guitars. Most used HB's are sold without any of that stuff. The screws on them are usually a thicker size & won't fit on SD's.

The rings I've gotten with my Phat Cats are a little smaller & don't line up well with the old screw holes, so I use standard size HB rings with them.

I have only have mounting ring with the antiquity humbucker.
I didn't use the mounting ring that came with it.

Crazy8 came with one, didnt need it . Diablo came with one, I just modified my existing pup ring to accomodate it with a dremmel tool. The guitars that they went into used a much taller ring than the supplied duncan ring. The duncan rings would have worked, but I prefer the tall LP bridge pup type rings.

Same here, the Crazy 8 came with one but it went into a pickguard so.. still sitting there...
The Distortion I bought used so dunno...

My CC and PG just came in last week. They both came with two springs and two screws but no mounting rings.

All the Trembuckers, Seth Lovers, Phat Cats, Antiquity Humbuckers, Dimebuckers and probably a few others that slip my mind come with rings.

I used the stock rings when I swapped pickups because they were already contoured to the guitar's top. I honestly don't remember if SD's came with rings (bought them from a retailer in San Antonio around '95 or '96).

Hmm that's funny. Every Seymour Duncan I have purchased came with the same little black mounting ring.

All the SD Trembuckers that I bought came with a plastic mounting ring. I've never used any of them though.

I recently got a Trembucker CC and it came with a mounting ring (every Duncan I've ever purchased new came with screws and springs)...not using it on the particular guitar it's going in (going to try direct-mounting it), but aren't they differently sized for TB's anyway? I notice the four mounting holes for the body on the ring seem to match up to the ones drilled for the original one, but the pickup itself is a tight fit in the cavity of one of the guitars I will actually be using the rings on...figured the mounting holes on the ring for the pickup would be spaced differently...:scratchch

That reminds me: If that is the case, are the mounting rings available separately? I've been scoring some TBs off Ebay lately (I'm in the midst of a pickup-swapping adventure with a few of my guitars), and soon will have more TB pickups than mounting rings...lol..

Would be great if Seymour Duncan offered the trembucker rings for sale as I have bought quite a few used ones with no rings.

Ideally I'd like Seymour Duncan to offer them in trem and non trem spaced to match together as as set, as the trembucker rings they supply are a matte finish and don't look right with a glossy black neck ring.

i used the ring that came with my livewire purely for cosmetic purposes
