Re: Does anyone else record this way?

no one ROCK sounded kinda scratchy - not sure what was up with that.

dead party has a cool vibe, and better production. main riff reminded me of the end portion of one of pearl jam's songs. nothin' wrong with that.

I do record into the line-in, but use a mixer in between (which probably doesn't add much to the sound, but gives me more volume control). While I don't think mine are "great" it does work for doing demo-quality stuff. I can't say if yours are great or not, it depends what you were going for. Something tells me that if it were side by side with a major release it would sound small/quiet, but perhaps not alongside an indie release.

recording direct for me just equals mud and distorted cleans personally.

guitar to effects to amp----line out to laptop input.

scratchy? mind going into more detail?

I listened to a snippet on my work computer, and although the sound quality of my computer ain't too hot, it is usually not clippy/scratchy sounding. But I thought I heard something in the recording clipping - maybe drums, maybe guitar, maybe a halucination. If you don't hear it on your end, it's probably just the myspace player, my crappy computer, or my ears.

Re: Does anyone else record this way?

yeah the drums were kinda overpowering the speakers

Re: Does anyone else record this way?

It sounds fine on MySpace, but that's because the audio quality on that site is bad in general.

I like your playing. You have excellent timing and rhythmic sensibilities.

hmmm.... i listen to the real version and the song has an effect on it to make it sound like its playing form a vinyl record player...thats what the scratchy sound was...haha
