Does anyone know how to de-age a pickup cover?

The 59 and JB that came stock on my Edwards custom LP have this layer of stuff on the covers that gives them a matte look. Anyone know how to remove that layer and make the covers look shiny?

Any metal polisher would work, including those to clean silverware.

Are you sure about the layer?? If they are raw german silver without plating, than its just their look. But polishing wont hurt, raw german silver will simply stay matte.

I don't know about those pickups, but when I polished my Epiphone's hardware and pickup covers, they never became gold again, they became a much greyer shade of gold


Oh well, I think it looks much better anyway. The stock hardware was obnoxiously yellow

for fine polishing of metal parts, I like 'Never Dull'.
