Does the Full Shred have...?

I saw that according to Seymour Duncan's EQ ratings, the Full Shred measures a 4 in bass, 4 in mids, and 8 in highs.

As a bridge pickup, is the Full Shred lacking in bottom end? Is it too trebley or "ice pick" sounding?

How would you rate it against Duncan's other bridge pickups for rock music?

It has treble but, it is not thin and ice picky sounding. It is brighter than most but, the Scremin Demon is much brighter and to some the JB could have more percived brightness.

I think the FS sounds Hi-Fi (DiMarzio-esque) without sounding too thin. I think it compares favorably to most Duncan bridge pickups in terms of brightness; it has cut but isn't sterile sounding either. The bass isn't emphasized but it's not lacking IMO either. I like it b/c the bass isn't woofy with gain, in fact it gets pretty tight with gain.

Indeed. I received that new RG2610 in the store today and gave it a test run. It was bright, but manageable. It had the balls and attack I wanted, yet also had a bit of sweetness that I like. I now want Full Shreds in my 7 string guitars.

what is the fullshred coil windings comarable too? is it like a jb with different screws or a scream demon? its trebley with a lot of crunch it sound similar to a jb but tighter...is its coil windings unique to itself or are they the same as another pickup?

To me the FullShred is PERFECT. The SD seems less bright to me though, but it may be the guitars.
I have the FullShred in a bolt on basswood bodied, maple/rosewood neck and a vintage trem, the SD in a maple neck through, alder wings, ebony board and OFR guitar. The FS is WAY brighter through the same setting. Both with 500K pots.

Either way, what's been said is true. The FullShred doesn't get thin. It's at the perfect balance in that you can detune and it'd never muddy up or become too bassy, but it has just the perfect amount for standard tuning and never too thin. It's a brilliant pickup with a beautiful sound, though it's true, modern sounding.

Simply put, the bass is the best I ever heard in any pickups. If you want the basic FS qualities with a more vintage sound, go for the Custom. But to me the FS is just perfect, though maybe I prefer a tad more output usually.

I would almost put my money on that it shares the coils with the Custom family of pickups. I would say a Custom 5 with 2 rows of Hex screws. I had compared both pickups in the same guitar and the full shred sort of sounds like a hair metal version of a C5. Or, a C5 with an extra layer of shred on top of it.

How do you think it would sound with an A2? It comes with A5 stock, right?
