Does this sound cool, or totally weird?

Re: Does this sound cool, or totally weird?

Oops! This is the only one I have. I'll have to get my hands on it sometime and bring a camera.

That's pretty slick. I'm a little sad you covered up black limba with an opaque finish, but I'm a sucker for the way that wood looks on its own. That is a pretty sweet sparkle though, looks sharp!

Hey, that wasn't my decision, man! I felt the same way until I got it together, when I realized it's an even better at sounding good than looking good. Now I think you oughtta use it for everything.

Oh, and another thought: I think you should try to wire it so that any combination of pickups is only weighed down by one set of controls. I found that out with humbuckers, and the n/m position of a strat-- fewer pots == less load == more air, sparkle and hollow acoustic goodness.

I've had similar findings myself. Because of Warmoth's cavity-routing limitations, I have to admit I'd probably wind up just having them drill three control holes with no switch hole drilled on the upper bout. Then I could just use three pots - master volume, master tone, and a 5-way rotary pickup selector. I'd drill one smaller hole for a mini-switch, so I could turn on the bridge pickup anytime. I think that'd still be a pretty flexible setup.
