Interesting. I like the idea of neck, bridge & pickups all mounted to a central bar. Wonder about the feel considering the rigidity of aluminum. Is it bright, snappy and more-sustainy-but-less-lively like a laminated wood neck-through, or maybe even more so? Would the outer aluminum body edge lend the guitar some "give" and help it come alive at volume? Only playing one will tell.
Coupla things I don't like: the idea of needing a battery to run passive pickups. I feel the LED switching may be a cool looking but unnecessary gimmick. I really don't want to need to be precise when I go to change settings. And I'm not sure how well the system would hold up in a real world environment coming into contact with sweat, beer, water, blood, dust, etc. Also, to my eye it looks a bit odd with the neck below the center line. Like a beautiful girl with a really big forehead.
I could get used to one if it felt and sounded great. Certainly the designers deserve a lot of credit for creating something truly new and pretty neat.
I found the Aristides ceramic guitar fascinating too when I first learned about it. There are some very cool and unorthodox instruments out there these days. I only wish I had the opportunity to try 'em out.
