Double Creme Dream! Super D & Vintage Jazz Bridge Humbuckers

Here we have a couple double creme humbuckers on the chopping block.

Dimarzio DP100 Super Distortion - $45

Not sure of the year on this, but its nothing too old. Pretty sure I bought it from someone here a year or so ago. This has been a great addition in my guitar since I got my hands on it, but I recently decided to go for a Super II instead. You probably already know about this pickup if you're reading it, so I won't really need to go into detail.

4 conductor wiring with not a lot of lead left (probably 4-5 inches).

Early 80s Duncan Jazz Bridge- $55

I bought this from a local guitar tech / shop-owner a couple years ago who identified it as an early 80s model Jazz bridge (sticker on the bottom says JMB - I'm assuming this is "Jazz Model Bridge" but please feel free to correct me). I wanted something lower output that could still hold its own under distortion and this definitely did the trick! Cosmetically it has definitely seen better days (scratched up bobbins, no tape around bobbins, slightly beaten up poles & screws), but it still works and sounds like a champ. The screw-holes were widened and tapped and will require strat-type mounting screws rather than standard humbucker mounting screws.

Single conductor with only maybe 2 inches of lead left - will definitely require extensions.

Can you get a close picture of the Jazz Bobbins? I'm trying to figure out if it will match my 80s JB with Nylon bobbins. Also, are you open to any trades?

sure, here are a couple more pictures at slightly different exposures so you can get a better idea of color as well as see the wear.

as far as trades go - i'm not really interested in any pickups right now, but maybe if you've got some cool pedals or something? just throw something out and i may bite.

WOAAH! An old Ovation solidbody! Awesome!

As far as trades go, I've got a white Distortion, and a white 78 trembucker (a deal but I'll need boot from you on that one :D), and an 80s X2N. Pedals, I've got to sort through them to figure out what I'm keeping on my board. A lot of odds and ends hardware wise.

Re: Double Creme Dream! Super D & Vintage Jazz Bridge Humbuckers

hit me up about the pedals. also, i've wanted to check out a 78 basically since they came out, but i rrrreally don't need any pickups at this point.... then again, given my want to check one out, i may cave on that.

...but hit me up about the pedals.

Re: Double Creme Dream! Super D & Vintage Jazz Bridge Humbuckers

its great! not quite as tight on the low end as the super distortion, but the highs are much clearer and more pronounced. these guitars came with either super 2s or korean super 2 knockoffs - i got the knockoffs. i put a genuine super 2 in the neck quite some time ago, so when i saw you were selling one i figured i'd just get it back to standard, and here you have it.

but anyway,

buy my pickups!

I haven't forgotten you bro! Dragging out all my stuff seeing if there's anything ready to mosey out the door.

Yeah, that's pretty much the description for it:

If you love the sound of a Super Distortion® in the bridge and you like hot neck pickups too, try a Super 2™. The Super 2™ takes the classic Super Distortion® sound and slides the EQ up in favor of the high-end, so its brighter top and lighter bottom work to balance out the darker, overtone heavy information up by the fingerboard. The Super 2™ is just the pickup to clean up the overdrive sound of a mud-heavy 24¾’’ scale, two-humbucker guitar or to add snap to a dark sounding 25½” bolt-on. It works great in the bridge or the neck.

I wish I had grabbed that Jazz. I have my Paul back and I think it would kill in it.

Re: Double Creme Dream! Super D & Vintage Jazz Bridge Humbuckers

super distortion is still available. i should probably start a new un-cluttered thread for it.
