double creme duncans?

Re: double creme duncans?

can you get new seymour duncans in double creme...like a duncan distortion and a duncan '59

They would have to be made as a "Floor Shop Custom" and would cost a little more than the standard pickups. Since Dimarzio has a trademark on exposed double creme coils Duncan has to make them with covers, they leave the covers loose so you can just take them off when you the pickups. I don't know if they specifically wind a double creme pickup or if they just modify an existing zebra but it takes more time and effort than a standard production piece.

Re: double creme duncans?

You can order a floor shop custom through several members (who are SD dealers) here on the forum.

As others have said, you will have to get the pickup with the cover loosely attached. You'll pay about the same as if you ordered a covered version of the same pup, but you'll probably have to wait for a few weeks as it is a semi-custom order.

There are several reputable dealers here who would more than happy to help you out:

MartinSixStringCustoms
Wymore Guitars
Lewguitar

Sorry if I missed any other dealers. I was unsuccessful with my search! Shoot any of them a PM and they'll hook you up.
