double Neck Les Paul

Well the SG thread reminded me of something.

Years back I was in LA and during the Super Bowl They ran an Ad for the then Up-coming Plant and Paige Concerts. I'm sure it featured a Royal Blue LES PAUL DOUBLENECK. I've ever since thought I was seeing things! I wasn't in to different guitars then as I am now!

So I've been on the hunt for a picture of such a beast, and guess what I found? Yup Don Felder with a LES PAUL Doubleneck.

Can anyone find/know of any other pics?

Looking at the inlays, I don't think it's a Gibson.

Those Yamaha double necks were serious beasts.

That's a possibility, but...

Don't forget it'd be a 'Custom shop' order, and then probably sub-contracted out to a private luthier. That has apparently happened loads, with guitars everyone 'thinks' are Gibsons!

Hhahaa, and people whine about 2 extra lbs on a LES PAUL.

"OOOH i sold mine because it was 11 lbs instead of 9..." wooow!!! LOL

This puts things into perspective, doesn't it.

My triple neck, 25 string is about 17 Lbs.

I agree,

Your guiter is only as heavy as your neck is weak!

My Double comes in at 14 lbs with strap.

Coool... I'd never seen that before...

Still prefer the look of a double neck SG tho. Classic.

Had a SWEET Ibanez Artist Doubleneck late '80s. It wieghed in at 15 1/2 lbs. BEAUTIFUL. Traded it and $50 for a '78 B C Rich Mockingbird. :approve:

Artist is worth much more now but hey I still own the Mock. :cool2:
