Re: Down tone

I think Keenan is playing a Tele while Bowers is using an SG /ESP Viper. Not sure on the amps, though...

FWIW

Re: Down tone

I believe that Pep used a Rivera amp of some sort, while Kirk used a JCM800. Both used Mesa cabs to record NOLA. Killer tones, none-the-less.

Re: Down tone

i can nail the distortion tones on NOLA with an anderson H3 bridge pickup in my viper (through a XXX). '59 handles most of the other stuff

Pepper was in the guitar mags awhile back plugging the Viper-300, but hasn't he always played an ESP SG with a hum bridge & P90 neck?

Re: Down tone

Peppers used some interesting guitars over the years (including Reso's) ... but in C.O.C. all I remember him using were the Gibsons, although I remember seeing him with a Strat for some reason. Even when Nola came out I remember seeing playing one of his beat up Gibsons
