Dream rig II - only one axe and amp!

Chickenwings

Alnico 6/8
Some of the rigs were pretty wild. It just shows that the economist's adage that people's needs are finite, but their wants are unlimited is true.
If you want the big stereo/quadrophonic A/b ABY ABCD multiple heads/combos with lots of axes then keep posting. But not here:
Here you have to choose: one guitar and one amp.
If you need pedals, thats all good - just dont mention them here.
This is your desert island rig.
One axe one amp.:biglaugh:

Re: Dream rig II - only one axe and amp!

Gibson Flying V and Marshall JCM800 2205.

Good choice- and one I very well might go with as well! :bigthumb:

Since we are not talking pedals per the OP...

My current axe, and a MESA Stilletto..

and ALOT of extra packs of strings and picks :D

Re: Dream rig II - only one axe and amp!

'65 Gibson SG with vibrola and a '65 JTM45! Job done.

Re: Dream rig II - only one axe and amp!

Jackson Custom Shop 22-fret Soloist w/ fixed bridge

Marshall JCM 800

Re: Dream rig II - only one axe and amp!

Gibson Les Paul
Marshall JVM 410H stack

Re: Dream rig II - only one axe and amp!

I'd probably go with my Warmoth Explorer (so versatile) and a Marshall plexi.

I have it - a PRS McCarty w/ Wolfetone Marshallheads through a Bogner EL-34 Shiva half stack.

If I want single coil tone I use the push pull volume knob to coil split them, if I want to rock out I leave the pickups as is. The amp is more than capable of killer clean, overdrive and lead tones all stock. It's the closest "all-in-one" combination I could find.

Re: Dream rig II - only one axe and amp!

I own my dream guitar and dream amp.

PRS CE-24 Maple Top, into a Mesa Stiletto Ace head.

It also works really well with an SG.

I'm happy.

Re: Dream rig II - only one axe and amp!

Mine would be a Les Paul with a 59' neck and a Custom bridge into a Mesa Mark V.
Push pulls for split. :D Maybe a Custom 8! I'd have to try.

I'm actually a Strat guy mostly, but if I could have only one guitar, it would be a LP.
