Dreams Necessitate Money

But, oh boy, if I had some, I know what I would be doing with it...

Thinline Stealth-Esquire.

TV Jones TV-HT pickup in the bridge, and a Seymour Duncan P-Rails in the neck. The extra knob is a rotary 3-way, to switch between the P90/Single/Humbucker sounds of the P-Rails. Reversed control plate, wired up like a standard Tele: 3-way switch B/NB/N, master tone, master volume (from back to front).

Lots of cream binding, just so everything pops just a bit more - and a Candy Cola (Fender color) finish. Cream/Vintage Pearl Warmoth hybrid thinline pickguard.

Of course, I'm lefty, so...

:lmao:

So, everybody share: if money wasn't an issue, what dream-guitar would you throw together?

Honnestly, my dream guitar is a les paul, I just don't know what model yet. But I know it will probably have phat cats in it.

The Tele would have a matching headstock but I can't get a reverse matching headstock in kisakae. Theres a couple other minor things I would change, but these are 2 guitars I must have one day.

edit: I just realized most of the guys on this forum are gonna hate these guitars. :biglaugh:

Re: Dreams Necessitate Money

they make a squier a whole lot like that thinline, except with a neck pickup so it's not so... EVH ;) it's short binding though and probably not available in LH...

anyway,

A Fender Super-sonic, with Gibson MIII wiring...:D

Edit: Would look something like this...

Re: Dreams Necessitate Money

haha, oddly the look of the Gibson MIII is something I've always been a bit impressed by, while I've never been such a huge fan of the Supersonic shape :laugh2: I actually think that genuine flipped Jazzmaster looks much better than an actual supersonic though... Maybe the blocked neck is throwing me off however :D

I used to have an MIII, and it's the biggest "never should have sold it..." instrument I've owned. I keep a eye out for them, but they're like rocking horse poo!!!

Not so much... Unless you're talking about the Vintage Modified Thinline... In which case I'd have to reiterate, not so much.

How's it EVH, exactly? Just curious - wasn't my first thought when I thought it up. :)

Re: Dreams Necessitate Money

Yeah me too --- glad to see another Languedoc fan!

True hollowbody (no center block), and of course the '59's

WOW, that's a beautiful looking guitar!

I really have no ideal guitar I'm pining to get one day. It would take me a long time of looking to figure out what I'd buy.

dude, i have been gassing for a true thinline hollowbody for ages. nobody makes them and the few who do charge a fortune...one day ill need to raise the bar on my own building skills to create something to the same effect.

and by one day i mean when i win the lottery and can afford to invest in the equipment necessary and the 20 blown prototypes before i get something functional, lol. solid body guitars are a million times easier.

...Fender Coronados are fully hollow and never break the $1500 mark (or shouldn't)

They typically have DeArmond copy pickups that people don't like, but here's one that someone's already shoved P90s in and both have ****ed with bridges...

they suffer however, from being ugly as balls, lol. but i know thats just my taste. ive also found that guitars that shape dont have the same characteristics as the prs/languedoc body style. i have had the pleasure of playing a languedoc and its the most alive guitar ive ever touched. i would also want buckers and not p90s...all in all it wouldnt be worth the money for me, too many things that are not quite right.

Re: Dreams Necessitate Money

there is a local-ish sort of band around my area called "sage". the lead guitarist dropped his prs in a heartbeat and got one of the languedocs when paul first went public. I had the pleasure of playing it briefly very recently. The thing is a beast of a guitar. Unplugged it actually doesnt sustain very much at all but it is very very resonant.

plugged in is a whole nother story. its so incredibly easy to coax the thing into the sweetest feedback you ever heard and its even easier to lose control of it and have it screech like a banshee, lol. its def a guitar that would take a while to master. it picks up every, and i mean every nuance of your playing. if you think you are tight on a tele then this thing will prob let you hear errors you didnt even know were there, lol.
