Re: Drop C# upbeat hard rock

its my gordon smith's brigde pup for the rhythm and the neck pup for the lead

thanks :)

Re: Drop C# upbeat hard rock

THat was cool man. I think it kinda had a Zakk Wylde feel and the tone was cool. Your rhythm playing was extremely solid. I like this kind of stuff.

I enjoyed it. I do think you could have had a better lead break to start the solo. The fast stuff once the solo got going was cool but I think from your abilities you could have come up with something really strong.

I think you did a great job. I wish I could have been writing stuff like that when I was your age.

You need to submit a solo for the track keano12 did. I'd like to hear what you could do on that kind of groove.

Re: Drop C# upbeat hard rock

i use hotmail though so i can only send stuff of 1 mb and under so i've stayed out of the jams so far, but i'll check it out

the solo could be better yeah, but i've only the last two days got back to practising properly due to a lot of crap in my life for the past few months...

the whole thing was 1 take though (both rhythm tracks coz its double tracked and the solo) and there was at least one bum note in my sweeping. i might re attempt the solo at the weekend or something

Re: Drop C# upbeat hard rock

Extremely solid stuff. Loved that main riff, I've been working on an instrumental like this, and I'm still writing some of the parts... I loved your tone too....

Re: Drop C# upbeat hard rock

thanks guys :)

i've backed off the gain a bit and i prefer it, its much more clear sounding

i think the solo needed a little extra gain coz i was having trouble gettin some of the harmonics out it but ah well :)

Re: Drop C# upbeat hard rock

that'd be because i cut the bass back and played the rhythm track twice :D

i'm waiting to borrow my bassists P bass to put down the lows on it, which will hopefully fatten it up

Re: Drop C# upbeat hard rock

yep, im 16 and i have too much time on my hands (i need a job for the summer)

Re: Drop C# upbeat hard rock

nice work.. doesn't seem like its too droped to me. of course ive got perfect pitch to standard flat so thats only 2 a couple steps from what im used too

great stuff.. as said before though.. the lead track came in a little pre-mature and weak, but held together through the rest of it

Re: Drop C# upbeat hard rock

yeah i know, i dont think it suits being tuned half a step flat it feels too floppy and weak for leads

Re: Drop C# upbeat hard rock

I bet I have more time on my hands than you do, but I'm nowhere near that good!

What are you using to record?

Re: Drop C# upbeat hard rock

Outstanding nuntius . . . it never ceases to amaze me what some of you young-uns can do. This was actually fun to listen to. And, the recording was pretty solid too. :bigthumb:

Well you said that you used the neck p'up for the solo, and that would explain why your harmonics weren't satisfactory... they come through quieter on the neck p'ups... just a suggestion (don't take this the wrong wa): Try recording the solo using a bridge HB or the like, it might thicken it up...
