Du U prefer 6-hole or standard (2-pin) Tremolos?

Hey people.

I've been wondering about this one for a while now...

I know fender dropped the 6-hole trems in almost all of their guitars for the 2 pin trems. PRS still uses 6-hole trems.

In your opinion... Which would be better in terms of sustain and sound?

6-hole or standard 2 pin?

Thanx

2 pole works better, so thats why I use it. 6 is for the vintage look, although I like modern trems better. My fav is the Wilkenson.

2

they're more able to smaller things like flutters. the 6 point ones seem too stiff for me

I think it depends on the unit. I have four trem-equipped PRS guitars and they're as good as any non-locking trem I've ever played. If the trem uses a knife edge (which most 6-screw trems don't), I don't know that it's a big deal either way.

A six-pole knife edge will probably hold up better than a 2-pole one because the force is spread over a wider area. A two-pole Floyd with worn knife edges doesn't work a whole lot better than a six-pole Fender bridge.

I prefer two post tremelos. In my opinion G&L's, dual fulcrum tremelo is the best.
