Dumb question

This my sound like a dumb question but here it goes. I just replaced some 6l6 tubes with el 34's. I never had an amp with el 34's but I wanted an earlier break up so I thought I would give these a try. The question is should I crank up my channel volume and turn the master down a little or crank the master and turn down the channel volume? I play a Boogie Mark I, bought GT el34's rating 6
