Dumb speaker cabinet question

Feel dumb for asking, but I frankly don't know.

When a speaker cab is listed as being able to run mono or stereo, what does that really mean?

I mean, how do you get stereo operation? If you had a single-channel amp, say, how would you get your output be in stereo? Do you even notice?

What is daisy-chaining?

Sorry for the dumb ?

Re: Dumb speaker cabinet question

Stereo means you can run it with a stereo amp (duh ;)) or run two mono amps into it at the same time (each amp would play through different speakers).

Daisy chaining is running cabs in parallel using one of the jacks on the cab as an input from the amp and the other as an output to the second cab.

Re: Dumb speaker cabinet question

Normally you connect your head via mono, but there are some mixing situations where stereo is cool, basically what alec already said...
And as usual, no question is dumb besides the one that is not asked ;) heh
