Duncan baseplates?

Hi,

anyone knows if Seymour Duncan is selling their original baseplates for replacement purpose?
I have several long legs pickups I'd like to convert to short legs using engraved original baseplates.

Thanks

Re: Duncan baseplates?

Yeah I knew the Mojotone way, I was just wondering if I could replace it with an original one.
Thanks BTW

Probably not since that's probably step one to making counterfeits.

Converting long to short isn't really very difficult if you have the proper tools. And it doesn't take much. The most important tool is the proper tap. (#4-44 if memory serves me correct.) You hold the current leg with a small vise or vice-grips, and then bend the tab back and forth 'til it breaks off. Move the vice or grips down the proper amount and bend the new tab over . . . carefully. Then drill and tap the new hole. I've done it several times. Even have a "jig" around here somewhere.

Too bad your in Italy, or I'd do them for you. (For a small fee, of course.) :)

I have a couple of short-leggeg baseplates from a Jazz set, I'd change'em for your long-legged ones.

Sono di Milano, se sei interessato.

sure, call them and ask, but don't count on it. they seem on the verge of obsessed about someone stealing the formula of the sooper seekrit sauce.

Pepe would be the way to go.... if you can handle all the mojo that comes with baseplates Pepe has touched. :D

That makes sense.
Eventually I decided to go with the Mojotone replacements and keep the current plates in case I'll decide to resell the pickups.
Thanks for advises and to Pepe for the kind offer.
