Hi!
I love Custom Custom sound. It's for me. But I need humbucker who have 12 screw polepieces (you don't ask why)
I tried Screamin Demon, sound great but isn't for me.
If I do 12 screw polepieces Custom Custom, the sound will be very different? Probably what?

Btw. Is this true that if will I put A5 to Custom Custom, I will get Custom 5 or if I will put Ceramic mag, I will get Custom?

First, yes it’s true that an a5 or ceramic will give you the custom 5 or custom.

The full shred bridge is the same wind as the custom with an a5 magnet, so if you put an A2 in it you will have what you are looking for, without the custom shop price. It will sound a little different with two rows of Allen poles, and you can swap regular flat heads in one row or both to fine tune the sound, but that will get you pretty close to what you want.

Re: Duncan Custom Custom polepieces mod

So the difference between Custom-5 and Full Shred is only the poles? (double hex-bolt vs fillister/slug)

Re: Duncan Custom Custom polepieces mod

I dig double screw pickups, too, and had a special 59/Custom Hybrid made that way. I would love to do a Custom Custom like that.

Re: Duncan Custom Custom polepieces mod

I heard that screw polepieces give warmer tone than slug polepieces. So If I want to will get the closest tone standard TB-11 I should cut long screw polepieces (in Full Shred) to baseplate, or mix screw/hex poles or install higher ohm pots or smaller value condensator, yes?

Re: Duncan Custom Custom polepieces mod

What is the change in sound with the hex / allen pole pieces ?
A different magnetic field ?
Can this be described in some way ?

Other way around. Slugs have less high end than screws and the socket head screws are brighter and tighter than the more common fillister head screws.

I wish double screw were a shop floor custom option. I can't do slugz no mo.

Re: Duncan Custom Custom polepieces mod

I have two questions yet. How will be tonal different if I will install chrome( or nickiel) cover to Custom Custom? What is tonal different betwen chrome and nickiel cover?
I need cleanest guitar sound, without noise and cover seems to be great shield
