Duncan Design pick ups

Im finding out here lately that the Duncan Design pick ups HB102 neck and bridge, are wired differently than the SH2 and SH4.
The wiring for the JB and Jazz is: Red and white are together, with the green and shield together to ground, with the black being hot.
In the Duncan design pick ups,the red and white are together, the black (and possible shield) is ground, while the green is hot.

Ive installed the duncan design p-ups using the standard duncan humbucker wiring, but Ive noticed I get a buzz out of the guitar,I cant help but to think that the wiring fior the duncan design p-ups are backwards as opposed to standard duncan humbucker wiring.

help?? anybody!

I believe you're right. I have two DD's and I've replaced the cable on both. I believe that was to make them Duncan-centric. (It was quite a while ago.)

I don't know why they do that. Maybe the Koreans had the blueprint upside-down. :D

This is one of those situations where a simple, cheap, meter is valuable. Hook the red lead to black and the black lead to white. Put the meter on the lowest DC volts range. Watch the display as you bring a screwdriver up against the stud pole pieces. Then yank the screwdriver away. If the voltage goes positive as you approach, and negative as you pull away, it has Duncan polarity.

The opposite is the opposite. ;)

Interesting,test using the DVOM.

I own a Fender Stagemaster which is equipped with DDs HB102s,,I popped the panel off to take a look-see at the wireing, and nsure enough, the green is hot,and the black is grnd.
I rewired my guitar tonite, and its sounds fab,but I still have a buzz when I let go of the strings,i know for a fact that the bridge is grounded,I cked for grnd from the output jack to the bridge and i have continuity.
I know its a grnd issue but dont know where,i dont think its a polarity issue cause the pick ups sound fine.
i may need to double ck my 3 way and make sure its grnded poroperly
