Duncan / Ibanez

My friend put a Kerry King EMG Set in his new Ibanez SZ520QM. Since I figured out how to make it work in his guitar, he permanently loaned the original pups from it.

They are labeled HB103 Bridge and HB101 Neck, so I figure that they are the same as the Duncan Designed. Can anyone tell me if the colour codes are the same as regular Duncans? I want to install them in my Charvel and it uses a Multi-pole 5 way for splitting and such, so I need to know.

If I'm correct, Ibanez uses the same colouring scheme as DiMarzio.

Therefore:
Duncan = DiMarzio
green = green
red = white
black = red
white = black

Hope this makes sense.

You can check on the Ibanez web site to find the schematics. I think they wire their pots a little different and you can't really make out what the value of their capacitors are. My guess is 333 (0.033 uf).

Black=hot
green/bare=ground
red/white= twisted together and soldered(can be used for coil tap)
Pinto are you still diggin the megadrive?

that is the duncan designed distortion copy and the 59 neck copy

Black=hot
green/bare=ground
red/white= twisted together and soldered(can be used for coil tap as well)

Ibanez doesnt make the pickups though. I would think that the wiring will be like any other Duncan design...same as duncan.

I dont see hte reason to retool colors when its easy to just wire them up using duncan wire color combos.

Most of the Ibby wiring diagrams I've seen use 3-conductor cables, alternating between red or white for hot/split. You have to look at the individual guitar to see which yours is.

The MegaDrive is wicked, I'm loving it... It never sounded right in the Charvel (Which is Mahogany/maple, like a Les Paul) to tonality was all messed up. It sounds great in the Basswood RG...

Also, 2005 is the first year for the Duncan / Ibanez pups and the newest diagram is for the 2004 models of the SZ, and the way they were wired in the old guitar was a mish-mash of the colours, probably because they split them in the middle position and wanted the inner coils.

I'll try it using the standard Duncan colour scheme and let you guys know.
