depends on your definition of what is vintage/modern sounding. i find the a5 59 to be more vintage since it has the open tone/scooped mids associated with paf-type pickups. the a3 59 is less boomy on the lows with slighty more low mids and less bite.

yup, it came with a nickel cover and i removed it. have to use something to substitute the cloth tape and black electrical tape was the answer.
