Duncan Uneven Winds

Re: Duncan Uneven Winds

I am sure half the folks will claim the Pearly Gates is but, I have measured a few and they were basically the same resistance between the coils. The most I have seen is .04K difference, basically nothing. Now, maybe it uses the same resistance but, different wires on each coil??? I dunno?

i measured mine about a week ago and it's true(mine was also .04k), there's hardly any difference. about as much mismatch between the coils as any standard humbucker.

Re: Duncan Uneven Winds

Evan posted once and said that none of the Duncan Humbuckers are wound unevenly or scattered. The variance in winds from one coil to another is normal tolerance. You can use the search function, I'm sure that thread still exists here.

Now I'm sure that the Custom Shop is a different story. The Brobucker designed by the forumites and that was supposed to be uneven.

Re: Duncan Uneven Winds

I was under the impression that until recently uneven winding was patented by Dimarzio, so none of the standard older Duncans are likely to incorporate its use. I might be getting confused though ;0)
