Hi All,

Is it wise using Dunlop 65 Guitar Polish and Cleaner on the following body ?
Fender:
• Series: Standard
• Body: Alder with Quilt Maple Top
• Neck Material: Maple, Modern "C" shape
• Fingerboard: Maple

I usually use it together with 01 (Clean and prep), 65 (Lemon Oil) and 02 (Deep conditioner) on a RG Mahogany body once a year, but all of these say not to be used on Maple, except 65 Polish which doesn't say anything.

THe 65 is safe, it's just a polish. If the RG body you are using it on has a finish, the oil and conditioners aren't doing anything anyway, just use the polish. The oils and conditioners can't penetrate a finish, they are for unfinished fretboards, like rosewood, ebony, pau ferro, etc...

I actualy only want to use the 65 polish on the Fender BODY (not the neck ) . All other products say explicitly not to be used on Maple. the RG has a rosewood fretboard. The fender is a Alder with Quilt Maple Top so i wasn't sure , but it seems the polish should be ok.

It should absolutely be safe.

Yes, nothing short of a nuclear blast is going to penetrate Fender polyester.

All maple on a guitar is protected by a finish anyhow. And as stated above anything poly on a Fender is THICK.

And polishes are for finishes anyhow, not wood.
