Dunlop rackmount crybaby/ control pedal schematic

I need schematics for a dunlop rackmount crybaby and for the controller pedal. My rackmount is messed up and I also want to mod the controller pedal to be used as a midi volume controller when not engaged. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I doubt you will find one. I've kept my eyes peeled for one for awhile (years) and I've never seen one. But, maybe someone has one...somewhere

You might send Trace at voodoo amps an email and see if he can help with either the schematic or repair.

Converting an analog pedal to a midi controller could be quite a daunting task. A midi pedal would send a series of digital commands. Its not like an analog pot at all.

It might not be that hard to do . . . you can just use an A/D converter chip to change the analog signal from the pot to midi. The tough part will be drawing up the circuit and wiring the pedal to output the proper midi value to your device (you'll need to take measurements on the min and max values that should be output . . . ) actually, I take it back . . . this would be ridiculously hard to do . . .

Actually I use an analog Ernie Ball volume pedal as a midi controller. My Rocktron MidiMate shoots out a voltage that gets varied by the pot in the EB pedal. The MidiMate then converts those voltages into realtime midi commands. I believe there are 128 steps and the sweep is very smooth and not "steppy" feeling at all.

If the Cry Baby rack wa is set-up to accept midi control changes you could use the MidiMate to send all your program and patch changes as well as using the real time controller pedal as your wa pedal.

I think my price on the MidiMate is $149 and the EB volume pedal is maybe $80.

The rack is not midi but the ground control like the patchmate does convert the same way. I was hoping to minimize floor pedals by having a 2inone pedal. I may have to move some stuff around on the pedalboard though to make room.
I have not called your co/worker yet as I am still wrapping up my loose ends on work but I may need to within the next month or so? Thanks for lookin out Robert

Anytime Bro, they are still looking for a real painter.

I would have sworn that I read in the ops manual for the Dunlop rack wa that it would accept either midi or a voltage control device. I'll look again and see if I can find a manual online with ops details. If it will accept midi then you can have your one pedal operation.

You were right, no midi.

That bites..... Midi switching and CC funtions would make that unit far more flexable, but probably more expensive too.

Yeah midi capability is something many people were hoping the "new" 2SR would have, but it doesn't, so it's the same as the 1SR.

Klink, try posting at hugeracksinc.com and see if anyone can help. I know there are a few guys that are (or working on) controlling their rack wahs via midi/cv converters.

There is also a way to modify other pedals (ernie ball, tech 21, boss) so that you may use them for the control pedal, but I'm not 100% sure on how to do that.
