What is a germanium transistor? Where can I go to find a silicon transistor?

How much juice has to be left in a dying battery for it to be considered "dying"?

I'd say that while theres probably some technical explanation, you've really got to use your ears to understand it.

Theres a few power supply units that actually have a variable voltage to be able to simulate the dying battery sound with consistancy. I can't remember the brand names but I've seen a few units that would do the job. SKB has a new pedal board with the ability as well though its rather pricey

Sounds like looking into something like that would be right up your alley

Walters...tired of trolling HC, so you came over here, huh? lmao...

It's ironic, though. I posted a REAL question about an SD Pickup Booster on the 6th, and the crickets are still chirping. One guy said he'd answer me later. That's been a few days ago, though, and I'm not holding my breath.

Troll on walters, looks like it gets a more enthusiastic response, over here.

From what little I've read, it isn't lower voltage per se, that causes the "dying battery" affect. Its voltage "sag" as you try to draw more current than the dying battery can supply. Similar affect caused by using a tube rectifier in a tube amplifier.

Here's a pretty good article on it along with some ideas on how to build your own.

So on the power supply if your put it at 9volts but adjust the current very low that is SAG?
