Dynacomp...Supercomp...ULTRAcomp...(Double Back?)

Re: Dynacomp...Supercomp...ULTRAcomp...(Double Back?)

$300 will get you nearly any compressor you want, and there a LOT. Look around at ProGuitarShop.com, for example. Here's some great ones off the top of my head:
Wampler Ego compressor (Ross style, cleaned up - takes humbuckers, very smooth, brightness control, blend)
Keeley (MXR style, super bright and squashy)
Analogman (Both MXR and Orange squeezer styles, slightly dark and juicy)
Okko (Optical, super transparent and atmospheric)
Strymon (Standalone digital, very smooth/bitey)
JHS (OS-style, very sweet pump, blend)
the JangleBox (Super bright Byrds-style jangle)

Yes. I was going to mention most of those but forgot.

The Diamond is a smooth, slightly big sounding optical.
The Tone Press is one of the best script-logo dark MXR sounds, plus it has dry blend.
The Farndurk is another OS style with an emphasis on gritty boost.

I was thinking also that it is a huge amount for a compressor. I love my BYOC compressor.
